terms of service and privacy policy for d4rks0ul.com · last updated 24 October 2026

Be a real person. Be decent to other people. Don't pretend to be someone else, don't post NSFW stuff, and don't go after people for who they are. If you break these rules I can remove your content or ban you.
These terms cover your use of d4rks0ul.com, including profiles, the profile editor, friends and messages, and anything else on the site. By creating an account or using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
The site is run by one person (me) from Liverpool, England. You can reach me at d4rks0ul.1389@gmail.com. How I handle your information is explained in the Privacy Policy below, which is part of these terms.
Whatever you put in your profile is yours. You still own it. By adding it, you give me permission to store it and show it on the site so your profile can work. That permission ends when you delete it or your account.
Your profile is public. Anyone with the link can see it. You promise that you have the right to post what you add (so no art, photos or music that belong to someone else and that you aren't allowed to use), and that it follows the rules below.
I can remove content, give a warning, suspend an account, or ban it for good. I can also block an IP address. For serious things I don't have to warn you first. Accounts made to get round a ban will be removed.
If you see something that breaks these rules, email me. If you think I got a decision wrong, email me and I'll look at it again. Because it's one person running the site, the final call is mine.
Messages are only for talking to your friends on the site, so be kind. They are not end-to-end encrypted, and I can technically access them because I run the server. I won't read them unless someone reports a problem, I need to deal with abuse, or the law requires it. More detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Profile music plays through SoundCloud's player, and linking Discord uses Discord's login. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, which apply when you use them. Links on profiles go to other websites that I don't control and can't promise are safe.
You can stop using the site whenever you want. To delete your account and data, email me (see the Privacy Policy for how that works). I can also close accounts that break these terms.
D4RKS0UL is free and is a one-person project. It's provided as it is. It might go down, change or lose features, and I can't promise it will always be available. Keep your own copy of anything you'd hate to lose.
I'm not responsible for what other users post. Nothing in these terms limits anything that the law doesn't allow me to limit, such as responsibility for fraud or for death or injury caused by negligence. Apart from that, and as far as the law allows, I'm not responsible for losses that come from using the site, like downtime or lost data.
These terms follow the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute about them.
I may update these terms from time to time. When I do, the date at the top changes. If the change is a big one I'll put a notice on the site. If you keep using the site after a change, that means you accept the new version.

I only collect what the site needs to work and to keep it safe. Your email, password and IP address are never shown to other users. The only public thing is your profile. I don't sell your data, I don't run ads, and I don't use analytics trackers. You can ask me to delete everything whenever you like.
D4RKS0UL (d4rks0ul.com) is a small website run by one person in Liverpool, England. In this policy, "I" and "me" mean the person running the site. I decide how your information is used, so under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) I am the "controller". Contact: d4rks0ul.1389@gmail.com
I require real people to sign up and use the site. That is the reason for most of what's collected below.
Everything you enter in the profile editor: your display name, bio, social links, profile picture, chosen music track, and your style choices. I keep it so your profile can show up. This is public. Anyone who has your profile link can see it, so don't put anything in there that you want to keep private.
I store your friends list, friend requests, and the messages you send (the text, who sent it, and when). Only you and the friend you're talking to can see a conversation on the site. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted and they sit on my server, so I could technically read them. I don't, unless a report or abuse needs looking into, or the law makes me.
When you delete your account in Settings, I ask why. I keep a small record for 7 days: your username, the dates you joined and left, your profile picture and the reason you gave. Only I can read it, and it is then deleted automatically. Your profile, friends, messages and other account data are deleted straight away, and your username and email address become free for anyone to register again.
I don't collect device IDs or device fingerprints. If that ever changes, I'll update this page before it does.
I don't sell, rent or trade your information. These services handle some of it so the site can work:
Some of these companies are based outside the UK, so your information can end up being processed in other countries. Each has its own privacy policy. I'd only share information beyond this if the law forces me to (for example a court order) or to protect someone from serious harm.
Under UK GDPR you can ask me to:
Email d4rks0ul.1389@gmail.com from the address on your account. It's free, and I'll reply within one month. I may ask you to confirm that you're the account owner so nobody can delete or get someone else's information. You can also delete your account yourself in Settings, where it asks for your email and password. Either way, I remove your account, profile, picture, friends and messages.
Passwords are hashed, the site runs over HTTPS, and the login cookie can't be read by scripts on the page. It's still a small one-person project and no website is perfectly secure. If something happens that puts your information at risk, I'll tell you, and I'll tell the Information Commissioner's Office where the law says I must.
If something's wrong, talk to me first and I'll try to fix it. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
If I change how I use your information, I'll update this page and the date at the top. For big changes I'll also put a notice on the site.
